Bullying: The Examples We Set

This. This is is another example of why I’ve written a couple of my recent posts.

Call it trolling or whatever you want… online, there are way too many adults “bullying” others. It’s part of where these kids are learning this sort of thing.

Two heartening things have come of this particular incident.

First, the person who uploaded this to YouTube did so to bring attention to the kids doing this as a way to fight it, and also started up a fundraising site to raise money for this woman, with an initial goal of raising $5000 to send her on a very nice vacation this summer.

As of about noon my time today the site has received over $200,000 in pledges. I’ve got no idea how much she will actually get, or what will happen with this… but yea, it’s a good sign.

The second is just the overall reaction to this video – many video responses have been posted calling out the bullying, condemning it and more.

I really can’t say what should happen to the kids involved in this, I don’t know their family situations, but people are reacting to this, they’re stepping up, they’re not sitting on the sidelines.

It’s a start.
