The first video thing didn’t go so bad, so I figured I’d tackle a quick item I had been thinking about for awhile… why we’re not supposed to drink during and for awhile after meals. And this time, I even got in front of the camera…

Nice work dude! We’re gonna have to put you and your camera on assignment to cover the Bariatric world in the northern states!
Mike
Go Rob!!
I echo the NICE FRAKIN’ WORK comment. Great visual with the funnel makes it very clear.
Awesome visual will be using this in my next support meeting this was the perfect visual to get me going/great job…. I think I will be visiting your site a lot more often!
This was so helpful! I really have convinced myself that my little sips of water when I eat don’t count. The visual was all I needed to get back on track. Many thanks and I’m looking forward to checking out your website.
Thanks for that video. Nobody had ever explained it that well before. Real eye opener
Thanks for edumacating me on that. Its so tough! You saw, i struggle hardcore but im trying to get better. Especially after Vegas when people called me out on it. But thanks for the video :-)
I absolutely love your visual demonstration! I have been drinking during eating and had no idea! I am 8 months out from surgery. My weight loss is going well
Thanks again!
Lorie
Awesome Visual, makes it so clear.
Thanks for the help!!
Wow! That was the best explanation of that rule I have seen. Thank you so much for doing that! I am having RNY surgery on Monday and that visual will keep me from ever drinking with my meals. Thanks!!
Very well done !
I have a sleeve gastrectomy, but because of medication very dry mouth, so I drink after eating, as little as possible, but this film shows: even little drinking is causing problems.
I will definitely try to find another sollution en try to wait as long as possible after te meals.
Thank you for this neat demonstration…
I’m a WLS Post Op, so is my hubby. Our son will join us on the losers bench soon. I am going to share this lesson as a refresher and your site with both of them.
Thanks again!
omg I remember him, he came to the WLS meeting at Unity Hospital in Fridley
Yup, that was probably me… I try to be there every other tuesday.
Excellent -wow that really hit home. And when I think of it I certainly know when I have watered my food down. THANK you so much for the presentation! Excellent!!
Thank You !!
Thank you so much for the reminder. I have gained 60 lbs back by reverting
back to bad habits. Boo hoo!
I double-clicked on the “Friends don’t let friends drink and eat” link and NOTHING happened. Does this link still work?
I am going to have to check when I get home later tonight, see what’s up and whatever it is, fix it. Thanks for the heads up.
Rob, thanks for supporting this important rule. Of course, applesauce has a high water content so it will flow through funnel more quickly than a dense protein source like tuna….As a bariatric registered dietitian, I appreciate your emphasis on ‘following program guidelines’!
Yes, I suppose that’s true, in it’s unadulterated form it will flow more quickly. But the point of the demonstration is more how drinking while eating will make whatever it is you eat exit your pouch that much faster… so while the reality of it may not be quite that “drastic”, I think it’s still a good visualization.
