My TV Debut – Sort Of

My media empire continues to expand as I make my post-op TV debut tonight. I’m in a commercial for the bariatric centers that are part of the Allina network here in the Minneapolis/Saint Paul area. The commercial airs tonight during the NBC News program, Cutting Edge – Fighting Fat. The producer of the commercial sent me a copy and said I could put it on YouTube, so that’s what I did. You can view it here now…

Now I say this was my post-op debut, because I seem to be coming full circle here a bit. When I was a kid… about first grade I think… I was part of a segment on eating well for a show on PBS. I don’t remember a whole lot about it except that my sister and I got to karate chop Twinkies as part of it. If I could find the old footage on that, I’d post it here as well… oh well.

Oh, supposedly, most of the local affiliates will be doing live web chats and different interactive stuff during the broadcasts of this show. I couldn’t find anything about it on the local station’s website, but saw it on a few others in different areas.

I’m hoping to actually catch the broadcast, we’ll see… I’m supposed to have a meeting after work tonight with a massage therapist about teaming up on some nutrition coaching stuffs.

I had RNY Gastric Bypass on April 8, 2009. I went from my heaviest of over 380 down to a low of 188 (for about a day!) before working on rebuilding muscle and such. Now I maintain at about 205. WLS has changed my life in so many ways, including my career as I now tackle nutritional coaching and other obesity education issues.
