June is wrapping up, and I realized something… while I’ve been blogging much longer, I moved my WLS related stuff to this site just after my surgery back in 2009 – which means formerfatdudes.com is just over two years old now. So, I thought I would take a moment to look back a bit, revisit some of my posts from back then.

First up was a recipe – Cherry Chocolate Waffles. The recipe is based on my protein pancake recipe, and it still works great. I don’t buy chocolate protein powder any more though, so I use my unflavored and add about a half-teaspoon of cocoa powder and a touch of sugar/sweetener.
In The Labor Of Your Fruits I talked about how to buy and prepare fresh fruit as it comes in to season (in other words gets cheap!) in order to freeze and enjoy for many months to come. BTW, one of my faves for putting in a protein shake/smoothie these days is watermelon… try it with a touch of lime juice.
It’s hard to believe, but by June of 2009, I was down about 120 pounds from my heaviest, and in Caution – Sharp Curves Ahead I was lamenting over how shaving had changed as the shape of my face did.
8 Simple Fitness Rules is a post that still gets some decent hits cause of search engine traffic. It’s a list from the site Zen Habits, but I offered up my take from a WLS perspective on them.
And it was just over two years ago that I invited folks to Meet Joe – my pouch. We’ve been through a lot together since, though I have to admit he’s become a bit less temperamental over the years, despite some of the abuse I think I’ve probably put him through.
Oh, I didn’t do much posting this time last year… basically I took the easy way out and posted links to a couple of my BTV videos – feel free to check them out though… there’s the Crabby Fish and Hot Pepper Sauce.
