What is the Bariatric Bad Girls Club?
I’m pretty sure there is a “wrong” answer to that question, not so sure if there is a “right” one – but in any case, here’s my answer.

I was in BBGC for a while but I ended up leaving. It was WAY too much drama for me. I’m quite open but there were some people who went so far into TMI territory and seemed to live in that “oh woe is me” place that I often found myself thinking “Ugh, them again?!”. I know that sounds terrible, but it was how I felt during my time there. Like it was often a competition about who takes the most pills, has the worst complications, the worst family drama, and so on. While I understand that the group is there for support and people need to share, I also think that the surgery and everything following it is a time when we have to at least TRY to stay positive and march on through it, and I found that group just dragged me down.
I also got very tired of the feeling of it being a Melting Mama fan club. I read her blog and I think I may have come to the group at a bad time because it felt like if she wasn’t harassing us for donations for some run or something, she was complaining about people being mean to her on Obesity Help etc. I get that it’s hard to have people having such strong opinions of her, but that’s the name of the game when you try to climb the social / financial ladder in the blogging world.
So yeah, I can see why people enjoy the group, I just really didn’t, at all.
I am sorry you felt that way while in the group.
